Advanced Selective Soldering Training
The Selective Soldering Academy (SSA) provides comprehensive, real-world selective soldering instruction and training— covering everything from the basics of soldering…to the most challenging selective soldering scenarios.
The focus of the SSA training is the Selective Soldering process—not any particular equipment. We focus on soldering theory and principles, and its application to selective soldering so that everyone has a thorough understanding of the entire process. It gives you a deeper knowledge of Selective Soldering that will help you get new products and programs up-and-running more quickly and reliably
The overall goal of the SSA is to elevate your selective soldering skills and your process to a whole new level. So that you can maximize the financial impact of your selective soldering process.
What you will learn:
- Troubleshooting - Typical—to the most difficult—solder defects and learn how to determine their root causes
- Specialized techniques - Learn unique combinations of parameters using our SSA Challenge Board to tackle the most challenging selective soldering situations you may encounter
- Machines parameters translation - How machine parameters translate to the fundamental parameters and principles of soldering
- Identification defects - according to industry standards and specifications, such as IPC J-STD-001 and A-610
- Understand - how to examine defects in a way that leads you to the root causes and solutions more quickly
- Understand fluxes - Through demonstrations and use, see and understand the clear differences between fluxes and whether you are using the right one
- Review DFM considerations - Difficult components and board design features that help and hinder good soldering results
- How to identify - New applications for your selective process and the technologies available to make it possible
- Gain a better understanding - of machine capabilities and features that are important to your company so that you can maximize your current productivity and help you in your decision when purchasing your next machine.
