IPC: 620 CIT.

IPC/WHMA-A-620A is the first industry standard for cable and wire harness fabrication and installation. The final product use classifications are defined and include criteria for acceptability conditions. This training provides a detailed overview of the IPC/WHMA-A-620A Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Harness Assemblies and is supported by actual cable building exercises and concludes with a qualifying examination. Certified Instructors are then qualified to teach Application Specialist training.

Objective
Upon successful completion of this training program participants will be certified as Certified IPC Trainers. With this portable credential, Instructors can train and certify operators and inspectors based on needs.
Instructors will obtain the knowledge to:

1. Reference the IPC/WHMA-A-620A standard to make acceptable/reject decisions
2. Proficiently conduct Operator courses in modules per IPC requirements
3. Correctly interpret and teach the intent of the IPC/WHMA-A-620A standard
4. Explain terminology and their definitions
5. Demonstrate hands on techniques in cutting, stripping, and tinning wires. Crimping, use of solder sleeves, solder cups, BOM and Blueprint instruction, tie wrapping, and pull testing using a cable assembly training kit.
6. Successfully pass the instructors exams with an 80% or better

What a Certified Instructor receives:
Everyone who successfully completes the Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Training Certification and examination will receive the materials necessary for conducting Application Specialist Certification and Recertification Training including:

1. IPC/WHMA-A-620A Standard
2. CD illustrating all facets of the IPC/WHMA-A-620A training program
3. Instructors guide providing complete instructions for Operator training and certification
4. 15 Open exams for Application Specialist certification

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive an IPC certification that is valid for 24 months.
